Yes, this is the Pyrotomic Disintegrator Pistol of legend, it is one of only a few known to exist and certainly very seldom does one of these come up for sale at public auction.
The ~1953 design and look to this plastic ray gun is so amazing that the patent designs are sold in various forms from posters to t-shirts...how many toys can say that?
With its classic flowing sculptured design and sporting the large classic rings on the barrel how can you not look at and want this legendary space gun toy?
This is the copper and silver metallic color variation of this pistol. It has Pyrotomic on the left side and Disintegrator on the right side with lightning bolts in raised letters. Patent information is on the left side pistol grip.
The main reason these are so hard to find is they are made of fragile plastic; that this one is still with us and has survived the past roughly 62 years is amazing.
This example retains a very high amount of the original colors. We see no structural cracks or damage in the frame or handle. It is missing the very end of the under-barrel bar and has very small edge chipping on the barrel opening, both as shown.
The trigger and recoil mechanism do function with "click" sound and have the simple reciprocating motion. We did not try it more than twice due to how fragile these are.
